The Denver, CO based quartet The Swayback, comprised of Eric Halborg (Bass/Vox), William Murphy (Guitar), Adam Tymn (Guitar) and Carl Sorensen (Drums) is our Indie Band of The Week for a myriad of reasons, but primarily because we dig their funky sound and their live shows are other-worldly! If you’re not compelled to dance your ass off to The Swayback, then you should probably go to the hospital because you are either DEAD or DEAF!
The Swayback recorded their latest full-length album Double Four Time with legendary British producer Andy Johns (Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin), which has brought critical acclaim from some pretty heavy-hitting publications (including the predecessor to RockRevolt and yes, we loved them too):
SPIN MAGAZINE
“Rock music is a lot like a cup of coffee: Some like it as strong as The Stooges, or dark like Joy Division. The Swayback takes it both ways-usually at the same time.”
THE ONION
“Coming out of Denver The Swayback is a scene unto itself. The band loves to spike its ’60s-style guitar rave-ups with ’70s stoner rock and ’80s Brit pop”
