Even if you disagree with whatever message or belief Acheron is putting forth, this album is a piece of metal that you will want to savor over and over. Across the board, the guitars on Kult des Hasses are lyrically fascinating and are definitely a driving force on this album. That being said, the album as a whole is a blood drenched sonic landscape full of decadent morsels of musical flesh. There are many nuggets to sink your teeth into over and over again.

“Daemonum Lux” – Opens with a driving drum and rhythm guitar setting the pace for a fearsome foreshadowing for what this album has in store. It folds into a headbanging groove with calls and answers, interrupted with a guitar that bends you over, commanding your attention. Vincent then makes you his own with growls and screams. The refrains ring throughout and your appetite is definitely primed for more.

“Satan Holds Dominion” brings forth the harshness that our flesh calls for. The brutality of the rhythms pushes the listener to the brink of delicious madness, and the combination of lead guitar and vocals lay down a path for the listener to follow into the commanding and embracing darkness.

The guitar melodies in “Raptured to Divine Perversion” take up hold in our sonic cores, allowing Vincent’s vocals to lay into our deeper senses. The combination of guitar and vocals is entrancing, driving the message that the band is putting forth and cementing it with metal fervor.

“Jesus Wept (Again and Again)” lays into the listener like a freight train on fire. The vocals here are the main event, carried through by a powerful rhythm section. I could see this song opening up a ravenous pit, leaving moshers out of breath and lustful for aggression.

“Thy Father Suicide” opens into a grooving syncopated glorious reckoning that tears the floor out from under your feet and sets you loose into a soundscape lapped over with drums and guitar exaltation.

“Misanthropic Race” pelts you with heavy hitting drums followed by a wickedly trippy guitar riff led by harsh vocals. Its distorted vocals display the significance of Misanthropy, and our hunger is brought closer to satiety, but still tickled with metallic gluttony.

“Whores and Harlots” opens our ears to the rain of heavy drumming that eventually flows into a heavy hitting guitar driven riff that keeps your attention.

The guitar in “Asphyxiation (Hands of God)”  paired up with Vincent’s vocals is orgasmic. It’s entrancing and the magic permeates the soundscape, bridging the gap between reality and sound. The multiple layers and styles of percussion rhythms make this song a complex piece of metal mayhem that is concurrently intelligent and face-melting.

Continuing on an orgasmic path, the guitars in “Concubina do Diabo” mesmerize and tantalize inner musical lovers, and the heavy screams make our blood lust for more.  Acheron does not disappoint, pushing us closer and closer to diabolical frenzied rapture.

Finally we arrive at the end of our journey with “Devil’s Black Blood”. A drum solo brings us into a lavish syncopated metal refrain drenched by vocals that beckon us to drink of the Devil’s Black Blood – and drink we shall! Drink long and deep, because whatever Acheron has placed in our cup, we definitely want to imbibe it, and continue to imbibe from it for a long time!
