Phinehas' latest EP The Bridge Between features an interesting mix of rearranged works from their previous albums and a couple new tracks. Some of these are pretty great, like the heavily thrashed out “Panhammer” (originally from 2009's The Phinehas EP) while others are somewhat puzzling, such as the acoustic version of “A Pattern in Pain” (which debuted on 2011's thegodmachine album) or just plain bad *cough* “Enkindler” *cough*
Many words come to mind when listening to the music created by Edge of Attack: melodic, symphonic, bombastic, fast-paced, thrash, power metal, thunderous…but what does it all mean? It means that Edge of Attack is at the edge of arrival coming to arouse your senses with everything they’ve got. They mix and match styles, genres, sounds, inspirations, and most of all, kick-ass metal that at one moment makes you bang your head, and sit back and get absorbed by the majesty of it all. Edge of Attack is definitely one band to keep your eyes on in 2013.

The 1980s were a decade that gave us a lot of memorable moments and quite a few not so memorable....
Spence first got on our radar a little over a year ago when we realized they were personally out and about pounding the pavement and getting people excited about their music and brand. The band members were actively seeking out people in the biz and inviting them to listen and to come to a show. Now, that doesn't make them extraordinary. No. Many bands do that. What Spence had was charisma and charm…and persistence. They were good at making sure that people that were remotely close to their venues were aware of their tour and personally invited them to come out. They reminded us over and over again where they were, and made sure that we were there to hang with them and have a drink. Dedication and persistence.

Per their Facebook page bio "Some roots never die, no matter how they are cut." There has never been a statement that rings so true. This band, Stardog Champion, features members from Breaking Benjamin, Lifer and The Drama Club. Comprised of Aaron Fink, Mark James, Josh Karis, and Nick Coyle, Stardog Champion are no strangers to this fickle music business. They've been here. They live it. They've been in the thick of it. Now, they have regrouped and made a new band, by piecing together their cumulative years of talent to make Stardog Champion. Because of their perseverance, their drive and passion, regardless of their past, they are going to take it to the next level, all whilst boasting an independent status. Oh – and did I mention they rock?! They have therefore been nominated this week's RockRevolt Indie Band of the Week.
A Sound of Thunder seemingly came out of nowhere in 2012 with their album Out of the Darkness: an album that was highly praised by critics and fans alike. It was a musical kaleidoscope containing shades of Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden and Warlock. To tide fans over while working on their follow-up album, the band released an EP entitled Queen of Hell. That just intensified the anticipation for that follow-up album. Well, that wait is almost over. The band is prepared to unleash the next chapter in the story of A Sound of Thunder.
