If there were a recipe for cooking up some southern inspired rock, then Uberstout are definitely the master chefs. As described on their Facebook Page, “UBERSTOUT create their sound by: numerous trips to the all you can eat buffet, southern rock influenced grooves, shredding guitars, politically incorrect poetry, and their favorite party liquor. Bake at 420 degrees for one hour and you get a “Heavy Metal Groove Core Southern Fried Rock N’ Roll Casserole.”
We at RockRevolt Magazine concur. Give us seconds and thirds of that casserole, and make sure to not be giving us no princess servings either. We are feasting this week on this band, and have rightly named them our Indie Band of the Week!
The first time we saw these guys play live was last year with Nonpoint, Call Me No One (Clint Lowery/Morgan Rose – Sevendust) and Eye Empire and we honestly thought they were already a major “got game” band from out of town on tour with everyone. Â They had the tight sound and amazing live presence of a very seasoned band and to be on a bill like that it was a natural assumption, right? Â Talking with them after the show, our Editor in Chief* ascertained that they were a local Atlanta band (she is from there and had never heard of them – almost impossible) and they hadn’t even recorded their first album. Â She was blown away, and was like, “WTF? Who are you guys?” Â So, she’s been following their progress ever since, into the studio and has now turned us all on to the awesomeness that is…UBERSTOUT!!!!Â
Their highly anticipated debut album, Common Sense Ain’t Common No More, will release on August 17, 2013.  Produced by Mike Froedge (The Dreaded Marco, Black Label Society, Speed X) at Open Sky Studios in Atlanta; it is an assortment of hard-slamming, in your face pure adrenaline that will make you hit “replay” again and again. Â
Give them a quick listen, and you will see why!

 * They gave me an Uberstout button and a demo.  I cannot stress how important that little piece of merch and demo were.  I’m terrible about remembering band names and tend to throw demo cd’s in the pile on my desk, with the best of intentions.  I stuck the button on the bulletin board above my desk, which I glanced at while procrastinating about something else, which prompted me to dig the demo out of the pile and listen to them one day (did I mention that I have ADD?).  It was ok; but I knew they were recording with Froedge on a new album and that he would rock that shit.  Moral of the story…always have a demo and a piece of merch to give to someone in the industry to remember your band.  You just never know what the future holds and I think this band is going to be HUGE in the future.  ~ Val King, Editor in ChiefÂ
