Melodic. Punk. Emo. Metal. Epic. Energetic. Heartfelt. Intense. Indefinable. All words that describe the 5 piece onslaught known as Her Bright Skies. Though their cockiness and the musical language is all American, the accent is 100% grade-A Swedish. Hailing from a small town in Sweden named Jonkoping, these guys know how to grab you by the codicils and take you for a ride, whether you like it or not.

Saturday 27th October was the day when the undead rose to invade Exeter. It was a sight to behold, with special guests of zombified military personnel, lumberjacks, scientists, Frank the Rabbit off ‘Donnie Darko’ and a banana wearing Jason Voorhees’ mask. The walk ended with the ultimate zombie ball, headlined by two upcoming bands – The Dead Lay Waiting and Fearless Vampire Killers.
You’ve had a rough week. It happens. Your 47th cup of Joe doesn't seem to be providing any pick-me up. You wonder to yourself, "What can I do to get out of this slump." The answer is 15th and Hope, the latest release from American pop-rock Indie band miggs. If this lyrically driven CD, with its uplifting feel good beats and positive yet emotionally charged message, doesn't do it then nothing will.
Most bands would close-up shop with a simple bow to their strong audience base or release a ‘Best of’ collection to extort as much money as possible from their beloved fans. The UK based ‘Basement’, their latest album ‘Colourmeinkindness’ has proven to be the five piece’s final effort to shine, showing many other bands how to break up with style.

There is no slow buildup or time wasted getting to know you on their latest album All Out War. Incite kicks in your door, trashes your home, drinks all your beer and leaves with your girlfriend. These guys aren't here to fuck around and it shows.
It's been three years since Silverchair dissolved into irrelevance. Out of that puddle of goo steps Ben Gillies (former Silverchair drummer) and his new project: Bento. This time, he takes on the role of lead singer and songwriter.
Reggae has always been my preferred genre of music, often hidden in the midst of my Ipod and overlooked by ‘keen’ music lovers in the realm of rock and metal. Now that The Dirty Heads are in the collection, I can proudly come out as a proud reggae lover after listening to their album Cabin By The Sea.

What do you get when you combine transcendental elevator music with blazing yet unrefined metal riffs? Give up? Temporal, the newest and possibly final release from the San Francisco, California based band ISIS.
Most people like to rant about politics and everything in between whilst making an unnecessary fuss about it – ranging from the radical (yet awesome) Rage Against The Machine to the average whining 16 year olds who think they know everything. Take all of that out of the equation and you end up with the LA based rapper Hyro Da Hero’s album Birth School Work Death. He churns up politically charged tunes while fusing hip-hop and rock influences in an attempt “To bring real music back”.
