Reggae has always been my preferred genre of music, often hidden in the midst of my Ipod and overlooked by ‘keen’ music lovers in the realm of rock and metal. Now that The Dirty Heads are in the collection, I can proudly come out as a proud reggae lover after listening to their album Cabin By The Sea.
It's been three years since Silverchair dissolved into irrelevance. Out of that puddle of goo steps Ben Gillies (former Silverchair drummer) and his new project: Bento. This time, he takes on the role of lead singer and songwriter.
There is no slow buildup or time wasted getting to know you on their latest album All Out War. Incite kicks in your door, trashes your home, drinks all your beer and leaves with your girlfriend. These guys aren't here to fuck around and it shows.

You’ve had a rough week. It happens. Your 47th cup of Joe doesn't seem to be providing any pick-me up. You wonder to yourself, "What can I do to get out of this slump." It was a sight to behold, with special guests of zombified military personnel, lumberjacks, scientists, Frank the Rabbit off ‘Donnie Darko’ and a banana wearing Jason Voorhees’ mask. The walk ended with the ultimate zombie ball, headlined by two upcoming bands – The Dead Lay Waiting and Fearless Vampire Killers.
.If you like your rock music hard, in-your-face and no-holds-barred, then you MUST pick up the just released double-disk Anthology by the Orange County based band THRICE.
Melodic. Punk. Emo. Metal. Epic. Energetic. Heartfelt. Intense. Indefinable. All words that describe the 5 piece onslaught known as Her Bright Skies. Though their cockiness and the musical language is all American, the accent is 100% grade-A Swedish. Hailing from a small town in Sweden named Jonkoping, these guys know how to grab you by the codicils and take you for a ride, whether you like it or not.
