Periphery
We didn’t want a three month buffer period
Throughout the years, quite a few concept albums have
gone on to become movies. Could you see Juggernaut between releasing the albums separately;
on the big screen one day?
We’ve actually talked about that from the very we wanted it to be digested all at once.
beginning. If we were going to do a concept album,
we wanted it to go full force and be very detailed.
We’ve talked about doing a comic book, we’ve talked
about doing a full on graphic novel, but we haven’t
talked about a feature film. That process, to me, is
a conversation that I would like to have if people
receive it well. I want to see what Juggernaut’s legacy
is, but first of all, let’s see if people like. It could come
out and it could tank and people could say it’s our
worst album ever and then we’ll never do another
concept album again. We’ll see what happens, but I
would definitely not be opposed to something along
the lines of a film. I think it’s a major endeavor to put out a double album with

Misha and I wrote the second half of it three years
ago just after we released Periphery 2; we didn’t even
mean for it to be a Periphery song. I had a bunch of
thrashy riffs lying around and we layed them down
at his home studio and it was really awesome. We
decided to use it on our project Haunted Shores and
we let it sit around for a while. A couple of weeks
later, we recorded the first half of the song. All of
a sudden, we had this idea for this twelve minute
song and I’ll be honest, most of the band members
didn’t like it at first. It’s hard to put out a twelve
minute song and have it be cohesive and keep your
attention. Spencer ended up adding some really
cool lyrical things and melodic things to it. Once
we started to sharpen up some of the aspects of the
song, it became this super cool thing that we’re all
really proud of. I would have to say that’s one of the
songs that I’m most proud of, if not the one song
that I am most proud of on the album.
