Periphery by Johnny price

Periphery has always been a very ambitious band climbing its way to the forefront of the progressive music
scene since their self-titled debut album was released in 2010. Along their journey, they have continued to
push the musical envelope all while amassing an incredibly devout and loyal fan base. The progressive music
genre is sometimes attacked by the critics who say that is lacks spirit and emotion. I think the band is going
to have a lot of those critics re-evaluating their words after they hear what the band is unleashing. They’re
set to release their most aspiring project to date; a double concept album entitled Juggernaut: Alpha and
Juggernaut: Omega.

It’s a bold move in an industry where the attention span of the average listener keeps shrinking, all while a lot
of bands continue to be more singles geared than creating an entire piece of art from the first track to the last.
Periphery doesn’t just push the envelope of this new creative venture, but they redefine it in a creative and
refreshing way. They take their musical canvas and paint it with so many colors from their pallet that they
haven’t touched before. I sat down with Periphery guitarist Mark Holcomb recently and we talked about the
new double album.
