VOLBEAT SET TO HEADLINE MONSTER ENERGY’S ROCK ALLEGIANCE TOUR AUGUST 23

Volbeat returns to North America on August 23rd to headline the third installment of the Monster Energy’s Rock Allegiance Tour.  Since the band returned to Europe as a festival headliner for the late-Spring and Summer, they’ve shown no signs of slowing down.

Monster Energy’s Rock Allegiance Tour will also feature HIM, All The Remains, and Airbourne.  Produced by Danny Wimmer Presents, Right Arm Entertainment and Monster Energy, the travelling festival brings American and Canadian audiences the very best that rock music as a whole has to offer, with a decidedly international feel. Rock music is a universal language and all the acts on this tour embody the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll without borders.

“The fans have made our North American visits thus far this year great fun and truly memorable,” Volbeat frontman Michael Poulsen recently shared. “We are looking forward to headlining Monster Energy’s Rock Allegiance festival tour this summer, and sharing the stage with HIM, All That Remains and Airbourne.”

Currently, “The Hangman’s Body Count” is the #1 track at Active Rock radio for a 5th consecutive week.  This follows prior chart toppers “Warrior’s Call,” “Still Counting” and “Heaven Nor Hell” bringing the total to four #1 singles at the format.   In the U.S., Volbeat’s most recent album release Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies has sold 100,000 copies, while overseas the title has been certified platinum in their home country of Denmark, and gold in Germany, Austria, and Finland.

Since forming in Copenhagen in 2000, Volbeat has released five studio albums, and two live offerings that have turned the band into superstars, collecting platinum discs and prestigious awards making them one of the most talked about bands around the world. Volbeat’s fifth album, Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies, debuted at No. 1 in the band’s home country of Denmark alongside Canada, Germany, Norway, Switzerland and Austria. The new release saw a debut at No. 2 in Finland, No. 4 in the Netherlands and Sweden, and No. 9 in The United States.  Speaking in reference to that success, Poulsen offered, “This is amazing and something we almost can’t believe. It’s crazy for us to think we did that, but the most fantastic thing about it is we did it with the fans support and dedication to the band. Without your love for the band, this would not be possible. So thanks a lot dear Volbeat fans and listeners. The support you are giving us for our shows and records are something we’re very proud of. You people rock big time.”  Volbeat is Michael Poulsen (vocals/guitar), Anders Kjølholm (bass) and Jon Larsen (drums), joined by former Anthrax/The Damned Things guitarist Rob Caggiano, who produced the new album with longtime Volbeat co-producer Jacob Hansen.

The Monster Energy Rock Allegiance Tour marks Volbeat’s third visit to North American supporting April 9th album release.  Prior to hitting the U.S., they will appear at the major festival Summer Sonic 2013 in August 2010 in Tokyo and August 2011 in Osaka. Currently, the band is active in Europe in the midst of a run that will stage performances for a combined audience well in excess of a half a million rock fans.
