The gods of German epic metal Equilibrium foreplay like masters, caressing us on the way to their fourth studio album release, Erdentempel, with the first part of a series of track-by-track videos!
Founding member René Berthiaume (guitar / keyboard) and Robert “Robse” Dahn (vocals) take you on a journey behind the inception of four new songs, including their brand new single “Karawane.” The album drops June 10, 2014 via longtime label Nuclear Blast.
Berthiaume has been in the metal-aboratory (see what I did there?) for almost four years working on this new creation and oversaw the entirety of the recording, production and mixing. The album is said to be emotional and personal, combining the roots of their first record and the blast of bombast from the previous two.
The band had been on a roll after releasing their first EP Waldschrein last fall after a three year hiatus, but original members, guitarist Andreas Völkl and bass guitarist Sandra Van Eldik, abruptly announced through a Facebook post on March 30 that they were leaving the band without announcing reasons.
Skadi van Terror, who also did the cover artwork for the Waldschrein EP, returned to splatter his magnificence on the new album cover.
Erdentempel will be released June 10, 2014 via Nuclear Blast. Check out the Erdentempel album trailers here and here. The album is currently available for preorder.
