Robert Zemeckis And The History Channel Team Up For ‘Blue Book’

Got any UFO fans in here? Any of you remember the old NBC show Project UFO?  It aired in the late 70’s and chronicled cases actually pulled from the governments Project Blue Book which was centered in Dayton Ohio’s Wright-Patterson Air Force base and since I lived in Ohio – and the project was based in Ohio – that could only mean one thing right?  Aliens were in Ohio.

Anyway – because of that, I was an immediate fan of the show and have never forgotten it, even though most people don’t even realize it ever existed. Years later, of course, The X-Files came around and if memory serves me correctly, they referenced Project Blue Book on more than one occasion.  I mention all this because we just got word that a new project is heading our way and will be based on the very same Project Blue Book.

Titled Blue Book – it will tell this tale:

The series follows Dr. J. Allen Hynek, a brilliant college professor recruited by the U.S. Air Force to spearhead this clandestine operation that researched thousands of cases, many of which were never solved. Each episode will draw from the actual files, blending UFO theories with authentic historical events from one of the most mysterious eras in United States history.

Some major talent behind this one – Robert Zemeckis – director of Back To The Future and Forrest Gump – is helming the show.

We’re going to get a 10 episode run.
