In the newest webisode released by Five Finger Death Punch, in which the boys tell the track by track stories behind the songs on their new album, The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell” Vol.1, this one is mega-cool and chock full of great tales. The guys talk about the title track at the end, but the majority of time is spent explaining the back-story of how it came about that they got Rob Halford of Judas Priest to play on their upcoming album for the song “Lift Me Up.”
In this installment, Ivan, Jeremy, Chris and Zoltan recount how they were flipped out when they heard that Halford had named 5FDP as one of his favorite bands while appearing on That Metal Show, which got the wheels turning. Imagine how tired the little hamsters that spin on the wheels inside the minds of the members of 5FDP must be!
After a few back and forths between management, it ultimately ended up that Rob loved the track and was flying to Las Vegas in three days to record! It’s very cool to hear them all talk about how much in awe they were to be working with Halford – an icon of whom they are all huge fans of.
And it all worked out beautifully. Wait, this is FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH and ROB HALFORD of JUDAS PRIEST, so let us rephrase that. It all worked out to be a song of epic badassery!
Check it out here – there’s just enough of a teaser of both songs to make your mouth salivate for more:
