I just did a double take. Three of the biggest metal bands on EARTH, Megadeath, Antrax and the titular Motörhead, are setting sail on on the first Motörhead’s Motörboat, a cruise on the Carnival Ecstasy September 22-26. There is a 78 percent chance that is the sexiest sentence I have ever wrote
They announced today the other bands that would be joining them, including Testament, Down (featuring Philip Anselmo), High On Fire, and Kill Devil Hill (featuring Rex Brown) on what will no doubt be “The Loudest Boat In The World.”
Motörhead’s Motörboat will sail from Miami, visiting the ports of Key West, Florida and Cozumel just off Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. Passengers will the unbelievable opportunity for interaction with the band members, with multiple bands playing on various stages. So it’s a floating concert fortress/ritual site for the metal gods? I’m so there.
The Carnival Ecstasy, which recently underwent a multi-million dollar refurbishment, features a tropical-themed resort-style main pool area, multiple dining options (including a 24-hour pizzeria), 12,000-square-foot Spa Carnival health club, a jogging track, as well as 12 lounges, bars and nightspots. I repeat: FLOATING CONCERT FORTRESS, the 12 year-old in me is screaming.
