FESTIVAL REVIEW AND PHOTOS: The Big Ticket

The Big Ticket

Danny Wimmer once again did what Danny Wimmer does…sells out events. With a top notch assembly of talent from beginning to end and the best ‘lifestyle’ events, ANY show that has the Danny Wimmer brand attached to it instantly classifies as a “MUST GO’.

This year’s line up at Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville, Florida, included Twenty One Pilots, Of Monsters and Men, Mutemath, Walk the Moon, Glass Animals, The Neighbourhood, Robert Delong, Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness, X Ambassadors, PVRIS, Saint Motel, Coleman Hell, BORNS, and Lola Rising. The Monster Energy Stage kicked off precisely at noon, and the party didn’t stop until ten hours later. The crowd was surprisingly early, turning up in HUGE numbers for Lola Rising, all the way from Denver, Colorado, which quickly established a nice following from the pre-show party hosted the evening before at The Underbelly along with PVRIS. It didn’t take the rest of the sold out ticket holders long to make their way through the turnstiles, and by 2pm, the park was standing room only.

Being a ‘lifestyle’ event, not only was the music top notch, the selection of great food and beverages made this a destination event in its own right. Event attendees were able to choose from a variety of options, and many sponsors even had games to add to the ‘festival’ experience. Security was helpful and courteous. Production was top notch, and the show went off without a hitch (at least to our eyes)

Knowing what DWP brings to markets with their shows, this is one photojournalist that is already making plans for Monster Energy Loudest Month in April/May of 2016. We hope to see you at the show!
