Stuck Mojo trail blazed the rap-rock genre by melding their heavy metal-bred Southern heritage with a frontman (Bonz) who bled hip-hop. Formed in 1989 by guitarist Rich Ward, Stuck Mojo set out to experiment with this genre-blending musical hybrid, inspired by bands such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Faith No More, Run DMC and Black Sabbath. When Stuck Mojo's first release, "Snappin' Necks," appeared in the mid-90's via Century Media, they were something of a phenomenon to some and a question mark to others. Daring to be different in a non-socially acceptable way, they challenged the system musically and broke down barriers.
Ever since 2008, this New Jersey band has been working tediously to keeping punk alive. Influenced by everyone in between Bobby Fuller and Blink-182, they keep the aggressiveness, but infuse it with choruses and a guitar riff that sets up shop in your head, and refuses to leave.
Per their Facebook page bio "Some roots never die, no matter how they are cut." There has never been a statement that rings so true. This band, Stardog Champion, features members from Breaking Benjamin, Lifer and The Drama Club. Comprised of Aaron Fink, Mark James, Josh Karis, and Nick Coyle, Stardog Champion are no strangers to this fickle music business. They've been here. They live it. They've been in the thick of it. Now, they have regrouped and made a new band, by piecing together their cumulative years of talent to make Stardog Champion. Because of their perseverance, their drive and passion, regardless of their past, they are going to take it to the next level, all whilst boasting an independent status. Oh – and did I mention they rock?! They have therefore been nominated this week's RockRevolt Indie Band of the Week.
It's that time again! Hell yes it is! It's that time of week in which we announce our Indie Band of the Week. This week, we selected a crazy awesome indie band called Death Valley High. Pioneering this sound, they are currently touring with a passion, kicking ass and taking names, as well as promoting the shit out of their latest and greatest, Positive Euth, coming out June 4th. Read on as we picked the brains of Reyka, lead singer, for more information on this band we should definitely be keeping an eye open for! They are aptly and appropriately appointed RockRevolt Magazine's Indie Band of the Week.

Ever since captivating the local scene in early 2011, Denver Hard Rock/Metal band Red Tide Rising has been hard at work. In the past two years, they have released two full length EPs, embarked on several national tours, and already have an album set to be released in late June/July. The album, entitled The Rising, has a diverse feel with a song to fit any mood
Taunton has a music scene that runs two ways – either join a tribute band or just extinguish all hopes of trying to be successful. On the 31st of May, NoworNever promotions made a bold decision by bringing down The Hotel Ambush to reignite the local metal scene's flame once more, and with absolute success. The Hotel Ambush blew everyone away, creating moshpits and causing havoc whilst maintaining an atmosphere that makes us believe that they'll be most likely to become something much bigger.
While you are reading this, hurry up! Blacklist Union will not be an Indie band for long. Dirty, hard and melodic songs scream inspiration from legendary 80's and 90's bands. Mixed with a hard alternative side, the band's recent 3rd full length album, Til Death Do Us Part, has once again pushed them closer to Rock super stardom. The album, which was written by members of the renowned bands Saliva and CRAZYTOWN, has gained them global and national success, sending them on several national tours and securing a dedicated fan base from around the world. Since forming in 2004 by front man Tony West, Blacklist Union has accomplished a lot, but is just at the beginning of a Rock N' Roll journey that will take them to places most people didn't even know existed. With the buzz stirring around this Los Angeles based band, RockRevolt Magazine is proud to call them our Indie Band of the Week.
From the studio to the stage, Rockland County New York's own, N.a.s.H, never fails to kick your ass. How it is possible for such a big sound to be coming from only three people I don't even know. Every moment of the music is raw - it's real, and it's personal. Brothers James, Joe, and Bryan Nash formed N.a.s.H in 2001, and have kept the music strong to this day.
