St. Patrick’s Day is one of our favorite holidays here at RockRevolt Magazine. After all, who in their right minds would allow a perfectly good excuse to get shitfaced drunk, dress like slutty Irish barmaids, go commando in kilts and speak in slurred, bastardized Gaelic whilst pretending we’re Irish pass them by? Not us, by God! Not us!Â

The Dubliners made this Irish traditional song famous when it became their signature song in the 1960s. Â The epic Irish folk song has been covered by Thin Lizzy as well, but this version by Metallica is our favorite. Â Enjoy!

Another shout out to The Dubliners, who also made this song famous first.  We just love this live version by the  German speedfolk band Fiddler’s Green who play the audience, well, like fiddles.  “Bugger off!  You bastards BUGGER OFF!” to which the audience screams, “FUCK YOU!”  Ah…the chemistry just brings a tear to me eyes! Â
