Iconic band Sevendust has just released a killer new album titled Blood and Stone. The album was produced by Michael “Elvis” Baskette who is also known for his work with big names such as Alter Bridge and Slash. This marks the band’s 13th studio album in over 25 years together. Fans will be stoked to hear the signature sound they love that has been perfected over the years.
The new album wastes no time getting listeners pumped and ready to headbang. Right out of the gate you are hit with a heavy chest thumping intro. The powerful vocals of Lajon Witherspoon accompany the instrumentals and perfectly match the intensity. If you are familiar with live music you can just imagine the bass of the amplifiers filling your soul. Something I know we are all dying for right about now!
Fans will ride the wave of energetic rock throughout the first third of the album. When you come to the song “Kill Me” you are taken onto a slightly different path. There is an ethereal sound paired with a steady strum of strings. It is almost reminiscent of a clock ticking. This track is beyond beautiful and brilliant the way they create the layers of the song. Without skipping a beat the music circles back to the grungy dynamic Sevendust is known and loved for.
There isn’t anything that stands out in the final tracks delivered. All around fans are met with a full experience from the band that leaves complete satisfaction. While predictable there is no lack in quality whatsoever. New albums can be met with thoughts of skepticism. It’s never really known if a favorite artist will deliver something new or fulfill the craving listeners have been searching for. Sevendust definitely delivers for the long term devotees looking for their fix with their album Blood and Stone.
