We knew it was going to be a kickass night of live music as we approached The Variety Playhouse in the Little Five Points area of downtown Atlanta. The line of people circled around the historic venue and down the street for as far as the eye could see. Thousands of fans had turned out en masse (many in KISS make-up) to see The Man himself – Mr. Ace Frehley!
Considered by most to be one of the most prolific guitarists in the world, Frehley did not disappoint with an almost two hour 16-song-set which included songs from his new album, Origins Vol. 1 (out April 15) along with numerous iconic KISS hits (see complete set list below). After a brief absence, the crowd went crazy cheering, “ACE! ACE! ACE!” which brought Frehley back out for a knockout punch encore , performing “Detroit Rock City” and “Deuce” for the finishing touch on a perfect night of rock!
RockRevolt Magazine photographer, Josh Rienecke, was there to capture the night in these great live pics! Enjoy!
Ace Frehley’s band consists of: Richie Scarlet (rhythm, guitar and vocal duties), Chris Wyse on bass and vocals (The Cult), Scott Coogan on drums (Nikki Sixx’s Brides of Destruction).
