RED TIDE RISING - THE RISING

ALBUM REVIEW: RED TIDE RISING – THE RISING

RED TIDE RISING - THE RISINGThe breakdowns are raw; the feel is dark, and the energy is explosive. With the release of their debut album, The Rising, mile high rockers Red Tide Rising demand war, and they are ready to attack. The album simply does not stop. Track after track, the band grabs the soul, and refuses to let it go. Progressive Rock mixed with the heavy and disturbing side of metal so sweetly blend the “wise-beyond-his-years” style of vocalist Matt Whiteman. His lyrics are personal: he knows who has pissed him off and he has no resistance in saying what needs to be said. He speaks for everybody who has ever felt the need to stand up and fight for what they believe. Shredding right alongside his younger brother, guitarist Andrew Whiteman is not afraid to show his skills. His riffs are more electrifying and heavy than an execution chair, yet his leads sing in a voice of their own so melodic that one may start singing them out loud. Seriously, you’ve been warned. Groove is definitely a factor in this album, and bassist Sean Verity delivers it like a pro. Mixed together with the heavy technical side of drummer Matt Guerin, Red Tide Rising never fails to get the listener off their ass and into the mosh pit. Every member of the band brings a unique hand to the table. They are not afraid to crown a King of The Spotlight, and they let each instrument bleed through the music and showcase the creative talent of each individual in the band.

This rebel in-your-face four piece has been rising above the Denver metal scene since 2007, and has no signs of slowing down. They already have done several national tours, and have shared the stage with some of the biggest bands in metal. The Rising may be their debut album, but it’s a fundamental stepping stone toward dominating the world of all things metal and hard rock. Be sure to look out for this band in the future. They refuse to take no as an answer, and will let nothing stand in their way of achieving their goals.

“All shall know the name, and the non-believers will pay. So get up and stand with me, the Rising has begun.”four and a half skulls
