Crown Remnant is an exquisite metal act hailing from Los Angeles, California. Priding themselves on “mixing a background of various genres of metal, hard rock, and progressive styles of music, The Crown Remnant is a project striving for an amazing performance, production, and creativity. With lyrics centered around personal issues, political themes and literary ideas, the aim of the project is to create a style of music that captures the heart of its creators.” With the release of the band’s debut album The Wicked King Part 1, The Crown Remnant have established themselves as a power to be reckoned with in the Los Angeles music scene.
The Viper Room in West Hollywood was home to The Crown Remnant’s fantastic concert, full of electric energy and a passionate performance. Each member’s personality showed bright as they conquered their positions within the band. Geordy Shallan, the mastermind behind The Crown Remnant, fronts the metal act, with good friend and collaborative writer Will Ash on lead guitar. They’re joined by Jorge Lopez on rhythm guitar, Josua Lara on bass guitar, and of course, Art Ramirez on drums. Geordy’s voice resonated brilliant throughout the entire venue, performing with an unmatched fervor. A talented and immensely skilled lad, watching him perform was both magnetic and awespiring at the same time. Will definitely found himself schmoozing over the crowd multiple times with his fun performance style and charismatic personality. The crowd appreciation for this music group was over-the-top, between moshing and cheering. At one point, Will found his way off of the stage and into the crowd to play his guitar with their enthusiastic encouragement, with Jorge quickly following in suit later into the set list. This band certainly has no boundaries- and will go above and beyond to entertain the fans below. Jorge and Josua dominated the right side of the stage, often pairing up for immaculate instrumental duets. Jorge’s charm was matched only by his notable skill on the guitar. Josua was going metal all-the-way with rocking head-banging and an energy that could get even the laziest man in the room up and jumping. Percussionist Art Ramirez could be felt from a mile away as he pounded the drums with a skill and intensity not often seen in a live performance- and very much welcomed in this epic metal band!
The set list featured a mighty treat for TCR fans, two unreleased tracks from the upcoming Wicked King Part 2 release. “Legacy” opened the night, throwing the crowd into an energized and brutal performance right off the bat! The rest of the set list ran through favorites off of the debut album, such as “Inauguration Day” and “The Execution”. “Inferno” was another previously unreleased track that warmed up the frigid Los Angeles night, with fans absolutely jumping at the opportunity to dance to this song. The evening close with From Damnation to Deliverance, a fitting ending for such an outstanding act.
