In an industry where the spirit of real rock and roll seem to be getting pushed to the backburner by corporate regurgitated fluff pop and meaningless rap, a band based out of San Diego, California is looking to shake things up. Rock music seems to have gotten a bit sanitized over the last few years and The Suicide Chords are looking to shake things up a bit. If you haven't heard of these guys yet, then here is your introduction to what possibly could be the next big thing. Now remember, when they blow up big, don't forget it was RockRevolt Magazine who told you about them.
With their new single, "Grave" out on iTunes and currently in rotation on over 60 internet radio stations, Stitched Up Heart is a kickass no-nonsense band coming to take over the world.
The final tour date of Killswitch Engage was bound to be messy: a royal bloodbath. It looked like it was going to be crazy from the moment Disarm the Descent hit the shelves, with rock fans flocking to hear what Jesse sounded like being back with Killswitch. What you hear on the album is nothing compared to what they sound like live.
A Sound of Thunder seemingly came out of nowhere in 2012 with their album Out of the Darkness: an album that was highly praised by critics and fans alike. It was a musical kaleidoscope containing shades of Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden and Warlock. To tide fans over while working on their follow-up album, the band released an EP entitled Queen of Hell. That just intensified the anticipation for that follow-up album. Well, that wait is almost over. The band is prepared to unleash the next chapter in the story of A Sound of Thunder.
Per their Facebook page bio "Some roots never die, no matter how they are cut." There has never been a statement that rings so true. This band, Stardog Champion, features members from Breaking Benjamin, Lifer and The Drama Club. Comprised of Aaron Fink, Mark James, Josh Karis, and Nick Coyle, Stardog Champion are no strangers to this fickle music business. They've been here. They live it. They've been in the thick of it. Now, they have regrouped and made a new band, by piecing together their cumulative years of talent to make Stardog Champion. Because of their perseverance, their drive and passion, regardless of their past, they are going to take it to the next level, all whilst boasting an independent status. Oh – and did I mention they rock?! They have therefore been nominated this week's RockRevolt Indie Band of the Week.
