Sublime with Rome, previously known as Sublime, hit the Washington DC area during their current tour on a cool and clear Wednesday night on November 9th. It was the night directly following the night the United States of America declared its new President-elect. Riots protesting the new Republican President-elect flooded the streets in nearby cities Washington DC and Baltimore, but we all seemed to forget about that inside The Fillmore Silver Spring where there was nothing but good vibes, doin’ time and the livin’s easy. (terrariumquest.com) The mid-size two-level venue, The Fillmore Silver Spring in Silver Spring, Maryland, showcases vintage art and ornate decor on the walls, and sparkling chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The ska-punk meets reggae and hip-hop band, fronted by Rome Ramirez on lead vocals and guitar, Eric Wilson on bass, and Josh Freese on drums and percussion, opened their two hour set with radio hit “Date Rape” and kept people rockin’ with hits like “April 29, 1992 (Miami)”, “Take It or Leave It”, “What I Got” and “Doin’ time”. You couldn’t miss the huge artistic backdrop that fits the band’s persona perfectly and the smell of sweet essence that filled the air. Sublime with Rome also impressed fans with their newest hits “Sirens (with The Dirty Heads)” and “Wherever You Go” from their latest album Sirens released summer of 2015.
