“I don’t consciously select ‘dark’ subject matter”
Selfish Things’ first single, “Spooky Action at a Distance” is said to “channel the pain, suffering and unnecessary hurt that comes with living a life based on impermanent, non-linear ideas that perpetuate egotism and self-hate.”
Those are a lot of words, and depending on the day or your time of the month, that may or may not be true; however, what is true is that Selfish Things has got some spooky action going on (at a distance), and it’s pretty tight.
If you are soul searching and trying to make sense of all the crap that the world is dishing out, whether it be sardonic pleasures, or the quest for simple human understanding and empathy, “Spooky” is your song.
Alexander Biro says, “I just think there is a lot of bullshit in the world; a significant lack of self-respect. To keep people around you who treat you like shit simply because of a cultural expectation teaches you to feel obligated. To do so isn’t living.”
Oh yes Alexander, bullshit there is a plenty and we certainly appreciate you giving it the bird!
