My Chemical Romance brought their Reunion Tour to Nashville, Tennessee, on August 23, 2022, much to the delight of the almost sold out crowd.

Openers Turnstile & Dilly Dally brought different sounds, but large energy to get the already excited crowd going.

Dilly Dally was remnant of the Riot GRRRL movement and brought a fresh sound to the room.

Turnstile was like hearing Jane’s Addiction for the first time, but without the stage antics Farrell & Co. are known for.

When it was time for MCR to make their way on stage, loud helicopter noises and flashing lights were booming through the room. This amped up the crowd.

The band walked onstage in matching “Mikey Fuckin’ Way” t-shirts, with the exception of singer Gerard, who donned a white and green vintage cheerleading uniform, emblazoned with a “W” inscribed on a megaphone.

This easily set the tone of the night as the band raged through the hits, deep cuts, and first-time-played songs.

Seeing MCR on this reunion tour (after having seen them twice pre-breakup) was like coming back to a part of yourself you didn’t realize was lost. The band was electric. The crowd was tearful, yet loud. The experience was everything you want from a reunion tour of a beloved band from your teenage years.

My Chemical Romance will always be one of the best emo-rock bands to ever do it and that is something everyone in the room that night will agree with.
