On November 29, 2022, A Day to Remember and Wage War made their debuts at the infamous Ryman Auditorium to perform acoustic sets to a near sold out crowd.
Wage War warmed up the audience with re-imagined acoustic versions of their songs. They quipped back and forth with each other about how odd it was to have everyone sitting for a show but continued to show so much appreciation for the opportunity to play the storied room.
A Day To Remember, who normally comes out swinging, also had the same reaction to a seated room and spoke about there being no mosh pits or hardcore dancers. It was a unique experience for the band and for fans, but it was still lively and very much on par with normal ADTR shows.
The band played popular hits such as I’m Made of Wax, Larry, What Are You Made Of?, All Signs Point to Lauderdale, If It Means A Lot To You, and The Downfall of Us All, which they dubbed “a cover of an original.” (Youtuber Alex Melton did a popular version of the song which is the version they played live.)
Audience members were also treated to deep cuts including Good Things and Leave All The Lights On (B-sides from the album Common Courtesy), City of Ocala, I’m Already Gone, and I Surrender, and songs from the band’s most recent release You’re Welcome such as FYM, Everything We Need, and Only Money.
ADTR doing this acoustic tour really spotlighted the talent of the band to be able to adjust from regular expectations. The new versions of these songs would be a welcome addition to their normal live shows if they wanted to go in that direction. This tour is not one to miss.
