Randy Blythe has been a true testament of honor, dignity and respect through this entire ordeal & he’s finally FREE…
Not Guilty and acquitted of all charges! Â That is the verdict that a three Judge Czech panel just handed down after a trial lasting two weeks, over a two month period. Â Â Randy Blythe has just left court a free man!
Blythe addressed the court at the end of the trial, before the verdict was read, and expressed remorse for what happened but proclaimed his innocence stating
“I know I did not hurt or want to hurt anybody that night. I can understand the pain that the family of Daniel is experiencing. Daniel was a fan of my band. I had no wish to harm him. He was just a boy and I wish he was still here. If ultimately the Czech legal system sentences me to prison, I will do my sentence like a man. I have searched for an answer to this situation, the only one I can find to this tragic and horrible accident.”
Members of the family of Daniel Nosek, the fan who died in the incident in which Blythe was charged, cried visibly.
The prosecutor suggested five years in prison and a fine of $10 Million Czech Crown ($530,000 U.S.) compensation to Daniel’s family. Â If the family wishes to pursue this in civil court they can, but the Judges ordered no monetary compensation from this trial.
Following the judges’ announcement, the State Attorney immediately announced his intention to appeal the verdict; he has 8 days to put this in writing.Â
After leaving court, Randy released a short statement on his his Instagram page along with a photo of himself from New York City a few weeks ago: Â
“I have been found not guilty & acquitted of all charges against me. I am a free man,” adding “Please remember the family of Daniel Nosek in your thoughts & prayers in this difficult time. I only wish for them peace. Thank you for your support- Randy”
Blythe’s band member, Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton chimed in to keep things in perspective:
