Who can forget the ridiculous 90s obsession with pop line dancing, most notably Los Del Rio’s “Macarena”? How many of you 40somethings can still pull off the dance? Clearly, Brooklyn trio Karabas Barabas hasn’t forgotten, and their acid drenched “Fuckarana” captures the ear-worminess of the original while maintaining the band’s trademark experimental rock sound. And to top it off, they filmed a video for the track in Midtown Manhattan and included footage of the iconic fuzzzies known as ‘The Mascot Mafia’ brawling in the high traffic neighborhood.
“Our rehearsal space is in midtown and, over the years, we’ve developed a love/hate relationship. With ‘Fuckarana’ we feel we accurately captured the essence of the insanity that is midtown.” – Karabas Barabas
