POD with special guests From Ashes to New and All Good Things made two stops in Alabama on the “Satellite” 20 year anniversary tour!
Released on September 11, 2001, “Satellite” was the breakout album for POD, giving audiences the songs “Alive,” “Boom,” and “Youth of the Nation” and was a huge contribution to the Nu-Metal genre.
Satellite went triple Platinum in the US alone; debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the Christian Rock charts; and had two singles (Alive and Youth of the Nation) nominated for Grammy Awards in 2002 & 2003.
The album also landed at No. 137 on Billboard’s top 200 albums of the decade from 2000 to 2009.
To date, it is still the band’s highest selling album with over seven million copies sold worldwide.
On 9/19/21, Mobile, Alabama was treated to the whole “Satellite” album experience. The album was played in full, start to finish.
Birmingham, Alabama, on 9/21/21, however was cut short due to a car driving into the venue!
Two men were kicked out of the venue after From Ashes To New and were in an altercation with venue security, which ultimately led to one of the men crashing their car into the downstairs bar.
POD, thankfully, was playing upstairs and no one was severely injured.
All Good Things and From Ashes to New played full sets, but POD was obviously cut short.
