Before we get to the details, let’s just say it out loud: OZZFEST AND KNOTFEST ARE MERGING.
Now that we got that out of the way…
Seemingly one of the most highly-anticipated press events this year currently has to offer, The Palladium in Hollywood hosted a conference like no other. With some of the most well-known musical icons gracing the stage for a big declaration, the few fans who were lucky enough to attend this last minute announcement were a part of music history.
The event was listed as an announcement by Black Sabbath’s infamous Ozzy Osbourne and Slipknot’s notorious Corey Taylor, but featured far more than just them. With the stage adorned by many of the headliners of the upcoming festival, it was quite a sight to see. Before the artists found their way in front of the lucky audience, the day opened with a video documenting some of the debauchery, shenanigans, and interviews during past year’s Ozzfests. Interviews featured in the video included the likes of Rob Zombie, Static X, Slayer, Black Sabbath, and more.
Fans were understandably shocked to see Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne grace the stage together, after news of their divorce made its rounds around the press. However, the two are some of the world’s biggest metal-music supporters, and it was truly a spectacle to see them come together in support. The focus of the event was entirely on the music, and that’s just how we like it.
The announcement was the merger of Knotfest and Ozzfest, coming to San Bernardino in September. Tickets for the lucky fans were on sale at the Palladium, for the early bird enthusiast. Additional tickets go on sale this week.
The event concluded with a performance by Zakk Sabbath.
