NORTHERN INVASION 2016

And an invasion is exactly what it was in Somerset, WI on May 14th and 15th, 2016. Since the innaugural festival was such a success, selling out with over 25,000 in attendance in 2015, Northern Invasion (sponsored by Monster Energy) expanded to two full days in 2016 with over 40 bands assaulting the estimated 30,000 upper-Midwest hard rock faithful. The weekend weather may have been a bit chilly (at least on Day 1), but the pounding hard rock and metal that infiltrated northern Wisconsin both days was anything but… Young and old alike converged to camp, eat, smoke, drink, and pay homage to their hard rock and metal heroes which included some of the biggest acts in the business today.

Acts that delivered blistering sets on Northern Invasion’s 2016 mainstage on Day 1 included: Rob Zombie, Shinedown, Chevelle, A Day to Remember, P.O.D., Black Stone Cherry, Yelawolf. On Day 2, mainstage acts included: Disturbed, KoRn, Bring Me the Horizon, Seether, Sixx:A.M., Pop Evil, and Sevendust. Acts such as Lamb of God, Baby Metal, Clutch, Parkway Drive, Monster Truck, Asking Alexandria, Devour the Day, Avatar, Hellyeah, Trivium, Saint Asonia, Ghost, Beartooth, The Glorious Sons, Lacey Sturm, and Butcher Babies among others, tore up two additional stages at the festival giving concertgoers plenty of options to satisfy their metal-lust all day long. If you weren’t tired by the end of each day, you didn’t rock hard enough…
