It’s awesome to go to a show from your favorite kick-ass band and catch a drumstick or a guitar pick from a band member. Yet, not everybody gets that lucky and there’s always that one person who loves to shove it in your face because they have one and you don’t. Well, it is pretty damn cool to catch a pick, but what if you could one-up your braggadocios friend with the guitar pick? What if you trumped their guitar pick with a one-of-a-kind painting done by that guitarist? I know you’re probably wondering how in the world you could pull off something that freaking awesome. Well, have no fear because Rock Revolt Magazine is here to help give you the 4-1-1.
Randy Weitzel, the ever photogenic madman/guitarist for In This Moment as well as the man behind Three Thirteen, is about to offer up a collectible that any fan would freak out over. Everyone knows that the worlds of horror and metal are synonymous with each other and Randy taps into that with his latest creative venture. He chose five of the biggest and most iconic figures in horror including Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, Pinhead, Leatherface and Michael Myers. I’m not sure how, but someone managed to get him to put down his guitar long enough to pick up a paintbrush and he created an acrylic 16×20 canvas painting of each of those scary ass mofo legends in horror.
These paintings are all a part of a brand new line entitled SLASHERS Series One and Randy and R-Custom Shop will be auctioning each of them separately on E-bay beginning on Wednesday, September 10. Each painting is a one-of-a-kind by the man known to his legend of fans of The War Machine. Now, wouldn’t a kick-ass picture from your favorite guitarist be better than a pick? We think both are awesome, but the collectability factor of each of these paintings is enough to make you break out your air guitar and start shredding like Randy himself. Show up on Wednesday and let the bidding begin and hopefully, you can have one of these in your very own home and rub it into your friend’s face.
