Then, just a few days later on August 9th, Marky will be performing all the Ramones classics with his band, Marky Ramones’ Blitzkrieg (with Andrew WK), at the Heavy Montreal Festival.

“Back in the nineties my friend won the NYS Lottery,” explains Marky about the song. “I was struck by how his life changed overnight. It inspired me to write the song. It’s a universal daydream. The song was co-produced by me and my buddy, Lars Frederkisen from Rancid. A few years ago I met Laurent in Paris. He was a fan and came to my show. We share the same love of movies and anime. He asked if I would like him to do a video of ‘Wanna Win the Lottery’ and of course I told him yes.”
And the accolades continue to pile up concerning ‘Punk Rock Blitzkrieg,’ including stellar feedback from New Noise Magazine (“Probably one of the best books yet about a punk band that managed to influence so many outside of the world of punk”), Kirkus (“The last Ramone standing dishes on Johnny, Joey, Dee Dee and Tommy, but the drummer is a lot more revealing about his own remarkable life outside the famously dysfunctional band”), and Classic Rock Revisited
(“From driving his car in a drunken state through a retail store, to being the only Ramone to visit Joey on his deathbed, to keeping their music alive in the current day… this sucker will keep you reading, that is until you are done! Gabba Gabba Hey!”), among others.
