The Black Jesuses are a two-man “power duo” featuring David James Rosen (guitar, piano, lead vocals) and Sam Bey (drums, vocals). Both members are also part of the Parlor Mob (hit songs “Into the Sun”, “Everything you’re breathing for”, “Hard Times”), a four-piece hard rock outfit from Asbury Park, New Jersey currently signed to Road Runner Records. The Black Jesuses, locally famous in the Asbury Park music scene for their notable rendition of the Beatles’ “Yer Blues” and originals “Roll Call”, and “7 to 3”, leave most fans awestruck – How does this power duo do it? Well, the answer is simple: get two energetic, very talented, compatible musicians together, and there you go. The sound is loud and raunchy on tracks like “Losing My Name” and “Rotten, Scheming, Dirty and Mean”, hypnotic on “Cards”, and then soft and ballad-like on tracks such as “Tidbit”, “Death Don’t Have No Mercy” (by Blind Gary Davis) and “Closer”. It’s the best ten dollars you’ll spend all day: available from In the Clouds Records for $10 at here .
