PNC Pavilion and the 106.5 End of Summer Weenie Roast played host to Stone Temple Pilots on September 12, 2015 in Charlotte, NC.
There are bands that when you see them live, you can pretty much guarantee you’re going to know the words to almost every song. Stone Temple Pilots is one of those bands. But when I heard a few years ago that front man Scott Weiland had been fired from the band, 2 things immediately went through my head. 1) I wasn’t really that surprised and 2) they’re finished. After all, how could a band as big as STP go on without its’ vocalist, especially one with such a huge personality? Enter Chester Bennington of Linkin Park fame!
After seeing some of their performances with Chester on YouTube I was excited to see them for myself and they did not disappoint! The band opened up with crowd favorites “Sex Type Thing,” “Wicked Garden” and dipped in to a nice variety of their catalogue throughout the 15 song set, closing out with my personal favorite “Dead & Bloated.” Highly recommend checking them out if you get a chance!
