As summer slips away into fall, A Killer’s Confession stopped through Kansas City to have one last summer throw down. On a beautiful night the outdoor patio of the Riot Room played host to Waylon Revis and the rest of the men of A Killer’s Confession. As the small crowd trickled in it was quite apparent that this show was going to be nice and intimate. Anyone who wanted to get up close and personal had their chance to do so. While I am not in the mind of the band itself, I can’t tell you they weren’t thinking about the small crowd but they say actions speak louder than words, and let me tell you, they let their actions speak. A Killer’s Confession stepped on that stage and poured every ounce of energy into their set. Not only were they tight on stage and full of life, they were having fun. Waylon Revis took the time between every song to interact with the audience with casual conversation or by cracking jokes with the rest of the band. Everyone who paid to walk on to that patio received what they were expecting and more. A Killer’s Confession ran through every song on their debut album Unbroken including “Sympathy,” that features Kimberly Freeman of One-Eyed Doll. To say the crowd was small might be an understatement but you would have never known if you were on the outside listening in. A Killer’s Confession did exactly what a band should do; play your heart out for the people who came to see you. I left that night as did everyone else with nothing but respect for every one of the men up there on that stage.
