Back in the heyday of VHS and the splatter craze – there were always that handful of titles that you saw on the shelf and the rental tape was never behind the box – always out, after a while I always just assumed stolen but you would look at the box – and the cover art and think – damn, I NEED to see that film. Yes, that’s right kids – back in the days before digital downloads, bit torrents and Kodi you would actually have to wait till someone returned a copy of a movie to see it. I know – barbaric, right?
One of those titles that were always unavailable (and considered stolen) was The Nail Gun Massacre – a 1985 released gore fest that heralded the tagline “It’s Cheaper Than A Chainsaw” – there is no way in hell that any self-respecting horror fan was not going to add a viewing of it to their repertoire.
Fast forward to 2017 and like many titles from that period – it’s getting the remake treatment and it’s going to be directed by Laid To Rest and Fear Clinic director Robert G. Hall. Hell ya!
Production is ramping up – Robert G. Hall has spoken a bit about the project:
“I’ve been really fortunate to have amazing casts in all my films despite the budget and although I can’t reveal anything just yet, Nail Gun will be no different and feature a familiar and stellar cast … It’s going to be a FUN MOVIE for sure, however, the new screenplay is really smart and we are pulling back on the camp for sure. It’s an update for today’s demanding audience, bringing you WTF superb nail gun kills of course.”
Anyway – the purpose for bringing all this to you today is to let you have a look at the new key art which also brings the welcome news that they are shooting for a 2018 roll out. There will be much more on this one – and hopefully very soon. Until then though, feast your peepers on on the nailgun greatness!
