Drowning Pool – Not So Silent Night
On December 22, 2016, the Not So Silent Night Tour featuring Drowning Pool, 9Electric and Red Tide Rising came through Aftershock in Merriam, KS bringing their brands of holiday merriment and cheer. It may not have been the night before Christmas but it was the night before the final show of the tour, and all through the venue the creatures were stirring and churning about.
We had a chance to speak with all the bands before the show and they were all in great spirits except that the tour bug had been winning the fight with Drowning Pool and Red Tide Rising as several of the members were battling being sick the entire tour. Matthew in Red Tide Rising had come on and sang a few songs for Drowning Pool while Jasen was feeling it. Whereas Jasen stepped in and was playing bass for Red Tide along the way. The sickness finally claimed a victim that night as Matthew from Red Tide Rising was down for the count and Jasen was in no shape to step in. Meanwhile the boys from 9Electric were healthy and ready to take on the world.
You would have never known Jasen was feeling a bit under the weather as he and Drowning Pool took to the stage and poured everything they had into that performance. He looked as if he could have gone on for hours as he showed no signs of slowing down. CJ and the rest of the boys rang out tunes both old and new for the crowd to take in. It was an amazing night with amazing bands and just the right way to ring in the holidays.
Drowning Pool has taken a lot scrutiny since the passing of Dave Williams about who their singer should be and the singers they have had. I can tell you this Jasen is it, he can carry the torch for Drowning Pool and I see a bright future for them as 2016 was a great year for Drowning pool.
Listen in below as we sit down with Jasen and get his take on stepping in and picking up the mic for Drowning Pool.
