INTERVIEW: ROMANTIC REBEL

RR promoIt’s not the first time to see siblings with common music interest forming a band and trying to conquer the world! In this case though, KT Paige (Lead Vocals) and Alex Vincent (Guitar & Backing Vocals), although they are brother and sister, they saw their “family” complete only when Zach Smith (Bass) and Ty Del Rose (Drums) came along. And this is how the Romantic Rebel was born.

Since 2012 when they were formed, the band has achieved many things. In just one year, they entered the studio with the renowned producer Ulrich Wild to record their debut album in Los Angeles, CA. The album gained almost immediate success, and their fan base was rapidly grown.

Until today, Romantic Rebel has played in numerous shows nationwide, with bands and musicians such as: All That Remains, Sevendust, Asking Alexandria, Avatar, Crobot, Nonpoint, Otherwise, Like A Storm, Rob Zombie, Shinedown, ZZ Top, and Lynyrd Skynyrd among others. With the help of Grammy-nominated producer, Johnny K in their new EP, and a big tour for the summer of 2016, one thing is for sure: Romantic Rebel are here to stay! We speak with the lead vocalist, KT Paige, about their new single, “Too Far”, as well as the past of the band and their bright future.

Your brand new single “Too Far” was released a few weeks ago. You chose a very powerful song to introduce us your forthcoming EP that is scheduled for release in early summer. First of all, why did you choose this exact song?

We hadn’t released new music for quite some time and wanted to come out with a bang. “Too Far” is super high energy and really gets the crowd going when we play it live.

The video shows perfectly the dynamic of this band. I know it was shot in Chicago…

You said it perfectly; The video definitely shows our energy level!

Now tell us a few things about your new EP. What kind of songs will include?

We are extremely excited about releasing these songs. They mean a lot to Alex and me personally, and we can’t wait to share them with our fans.

Do you feel more musically mature since the recording of your last album three years back?

Definitely. With time, our music and sound evolves. We also go through different experiences and struggles, which creates new material for new songs. (www.keppnerboxing.com)

13178956_1042637832492378_7648020092268118275_nYou write music and lyrics all by yourself. Where do you find the inspiration?

Of course we use our life experiences a lot, but our fans inspire our music as well.

The band at first started as a “family business”, but soon enough more members came along. After all these years, would you say that you are just one, big, happy family?

Of course! We have a blast together!

All families sometimes have disagreements. How do you deal with it?

Actually, we all get along really well!

You have a big tour scheduled for this summer along with Smile Empty Soul. When do you start, and who would be the lucky ones to listen to you live?

Yes! We start in mid-July and will be rocking all over the U.S.!

13173939_1045672808855547_6232916469057103211_nYou have already lined up with some big names in the music industry. Which cooperation of them all sticks out to you, and why?

There are too many to count! Everyone we meet has some helpful hints and advice.

Which would be a dream collaboration for you?

I would love to record or sing a song with either: Danny Worship, Taylor Momsen, or Rob Zombie.

Any other future plans apart the new EP and the tour?

You just never know! Keep up on our Facebook for updates.
