GWAR Unleashes Hell on Lawrence, KS
On August 30th, 2015 the Aliens of Anarchy, GWAR brought their intergalactic kegger to the Granada in Lawrence, KS. Before the show we at Rock Revolt Magazine had the opportunity to interview Beefcake the Mighty, which can be found on rockrevoltmagazine.com as well on the RockRevolt YouTube channel. As the lights came down and the shadows of the Aliens that call Antarctica home on Earth came to the stage. The crowd started to go nuts and chat for GWAR. As GWAR broke into “Crush Kill Destroy” the crowd lost their shit and “Crush Kill Destroy” rained down from every corner of the Granada. GWAR’s manager Sleazy P. Martini made an appearance after the song to berate GWAR and basically tell them to get their shit together because the internet was tearing them apart. GWAR did not seem to mind until Sleazy P. reminded them that no fan base meant no money and that no money meant no more crack. That seemed to get the Aliens attention as they spent the rest of the night trying to figure out how to kill the internet. In between songs they would use their tablet to surf the internet to try and find it and kill it. Visits to “Fistbook” and “Kinder” helped lead into such songs like “Baby Raper”. Of course it would not be a GWAR show without a little blood, hell who am I kidding there was blood and blue shit everywhere and the Bohabs craved more and more as the night went on.
August 30th also held special meaning to the Aliens as well as the actual men of GWAR it would have been the 51st birthday of Dave Brockie also known as Oderus Urungus. His presence was felt through the show by the video that played GWAR videos featuring Oderus.
GWAR also had a few special guest on stage with them. There was a brief interruption as the show was delayed for a “Fux News” report. As the reporter was doing his news broadcast live on stage a member of ISIS came out and beheaded the reporter and then was beheaded himself as the blood flowed. Then we all had the pleasure of being in the company of Hillary and Kanya. Poor Kanya had his face ripped off and poor Hillary was missing her tits as she went off stage. GWAR treated the crowd to a double encore of “Salaminizer” and “Sick of You”. When the lights came up I have never seen so many happy faces covered in blood and guts and spit and ass. 30 years of world domination, it has been a long run and judging by this show, they plan on stopping no time soon.
