Mick Jagger and the rest of The Rolling Stones have been huge fans of Gary Clark Jr. since Mick first heard the singer, songwriter and guitarist extraordinaire perform at the White House last year.  They are so into the guitarist who many have called ‘the second coming of Jimi Hendrix’ that they’ve invited Gary to appear as a special guest during their show tonight at the TD Garden in Boston, MA.  This will mark the third time Clark has played with the Stones during their current North American tour, as he was invited to jump on stage back in December at two shows (Brooklyn and Newark, NJ) to shred out a blistering version of “Going Down.”

Gary Clark Jr. has been well-known in the music world for a few years, but this has turned out to be THE best year of his career thus far as his Warner Bros. debut album, Blak and Blu, has been critically acclaimed and embraced by fans worldwide.  He has been the musical guest on Saturday Night Live, Jimmy Fallon, David Letterman and Jay Leno, to name just a few.  Gary has already appeared at many major festivals so far, and will be embarking on the second leg of his  tour starting on June 30, 2013, which will include many more U.S. Festivals and dates.

Clark will be the subject of two featured segments on CBS This Morning this weekend.  On Friday, Gary sits down for a long-form interview from Electric Lady Studios in New York.  The segment will feature clips from Clark’s recent performance at The Governors Ball Music Festival this past weekend in New York. Saturday’s edition has Clark performing two tracks by himself  from Blak and Blu in the studio, “When My Train Pulls In” and “Next Door Neighbor Blues.”
