The FORGED IN FIRE tour, co-headlined by American metal favorites HELLYEAH and Swedish melodic death metal pioneers In Flames, kicked off near Washington DC on Monday, November 14th. It was another cool autumn night at The Fillmore Silver Spring in Silver Spring, MD, where the venue showcases vintage art, artist posters, and ornate decor on the walls, and sparkling chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The nu-metal Pennsylvania band, From Ashes to New, slammed through their set and warmed up the crowd for HELLYEAH & In Flames with their high energy performance. These guys are fun to watch and a must-see. From Ashes to New released their new single called “The Last Time” featuring Deuce on September 29- LISTEN HERE.
Heavy metal supergroup, HELLYEAH, took the stage next. The band features Mudvayne vocalist Chad Gray, former Nothingface guitarist Tom Maxwell, bass player Kyle Sanders, guitarist Christian Brady and former Pantera and Damageplan drummer Vinnie Paul. I’ve been following HELLYEAH since their startup in 2006, and they are personally one of my favorite bands to shoot. The groove metal band delivered an in-your-face adrenaline packed set from start to finish to the sea of rockers that packed The Fillmore Silver Spring where 90% of the time everyone had their hands in the air, throwing the horns. They played popular radio hits such as “Blood For Blood”, “Moth”, and self-titled “HELLYEAH”. The band’s fifth studio album UNDEN!ABLE was released on June 03, 2016. Watch the official music video for “I Don’t Care Anymore” (Phil Collins cover) from their latest album HERE.

Next, In Flames slayed the stage with their unique melodic death metal sound. From Gothenburg, Sweden, the band features Anders Fridén on vox, Björn Gelotte on lead guitar, Peter Iwers on bass, Niclas Engelin on rhythm guitar, and Joe Rickard on drums. In Flames continued the night with another high energy performance and played hits like “Only for the Weak”, “Cloud Connected”, and “Take This Life”. The band recently released their twelfth studio album Battles on November 11, 2016, in the United States via Eleven Seven Music. Watch the official music video for “The End” from their latest album HERE. This was a show with unstoppable force and face melting metal that left crowd surfing mosh pitting metal maniacs of Silver Spring with a night to remember.
