Montreal, QC Trap Rock Band ERA9 has released the official music video for “Black Widow (Tick Tock).” Directed by Jona Dhe Paganon, “Black Widow (Tick Tock)” is off of the band’s Gravity LP.
“We wanted to make heads turn with our DIY video production of our song Black Widow. The track is essentially about an unhealthy relationship, only we spiced it up a little by putting a dark Sweeney Todd vibe to the story. The cute, crazy & deranged barber-lady has a line up of men waiting to get their beards trimmed; one of the men in-line has a certain charisma that pulls them together. What she does with the men post beard trim, honours her title as cute, crazy & deranged. So prepare your teacups and press play on the video to find out :)” – ERA9
“Era 9 emit masses of personality and diversity in their music, which makes them so appealing and unique to listen to. They hypnotise you and take you on a journey of diverse sounds and beats that cover every end of the spectrum. ‘Gravity‘ is an album of risks and self-discovery that focusses on the future of music; it’s a confusing mix of genres, but Era 9 somehow make it work.” – Broken Arrow Magazine
If there was a band in the world that breaks the barriers and labels that genres and the music industry place upon the listener’s and critic’s brains, Era9 takes a wrecking ball and destroys those barriers. They don’t discriminate toward any musical genre, but feel an attraction towards uniting them.
Drawing from the future rather than the past, ERA9 merge Rock, Hip-Hop and EDM to create their own unique sonic architecture, which they dub “TrapRock.”
