Dave Mustaine Visits the School of Rock in Frisco, TX
On the eve of Megadeth’s opening night of the Dystopia world tour, Dave Mustaine dropped by the Frisco Texas School of Rock. The event was a private event for the students and families of the areas School of Rock locations. The night kicked off with a little Q&A with questions being asked to Dave Mustaine by the students of the school. It was an awesome site as Mr. Mustaine took in every question and took time with all his answers giving a wealth of knowledge for all that was in attendance. Even before he started the session, while acknowledging the crowd he expressed that while some might think this is a bother to him, he actually was really looking forward to the time he was spending with these kids and it showed. There were many great questions that ranged from how he takes care of himself and what would he do differently if he was just starting as a musician in today’s society.
After the Q&A wrapped up it was time to have a little fun. Dave Mustaine accompanied a few select School of Rock kids on two Megadeth tracks, Symphony of Destruction and A Tout Le Monde. Dave set back in the cut while the kids took center stage and rocked the house. It was amazing the talent of these young men and women as they looked and sounded like seasoned vets. In between songs Dave could be seen onstage talking with the kids about their gear and giving little tips about various things. It was truly a site to see.
Sadly like all good things they have to come to an end, and so did our night. Before it was all over Dave took group photos with all the kids from their respective School of Rock Locations. It was a magical night for all the kids that were here as well for their families. Just setting back and seeing a room full of smiling faces and experiencing the pure happiness of everyone around me was a true honor to be a part of. A huge thank you to Dave Mustaine, School of Rock, and Universal Music Enterprises for letting us be a part of such a special event.
Parents if your kids are interested in music and learning an instrument or being a vocalist. Check out the School of Rock. Who better to teach your kids then actual musicians not just teachers.
