The Seattle, WA based AWAKEN THE EMPIRE fuses atmospheric alt-rock with raw, heavy emotion. The group’s constant use of encrypted codes and hidden messages, produces a sound that plays out more like a cinematic movie score. They are definitely not your typical rock band.
AWAKEN THE EMPIRE’s much-anticipated debut offering, Aurora, is set for a July 24th release through Another Century. Take a look at the new music video for the track, “Cross My Heart”.

Damien Lawson (vocals) states, “Working with director Chad Michael Ward on this video was a wonderfully brutal experience. He’s very like us in the sense that he’s so in the moment and passionate. The whole time I’m singing, and throwing myself around, he’s screaming at me, in my face and pushing me to go harder. I loved every second of it.” “We were also so lucky to have some really amazing talent in the ‘Cross My Heart’ video. All of the actors were fantastic, and seriously beautiful people. Derek Mears, who played Jason Voorhees in the latest Friday the 13th movie, is in the video. The cast and crew, as a collective, really elevated the cinematic aspects of the video to a level that totally surpassed what we had hoped for.” “This is a total schizophrenic love song. It’s about falling in love, but being so damaged that you can’t trust it. You desperately want to believe in the love, but at the same time you are terrified to get your heart ripped out again.”
