Motorhead
The World is Ours – Vol 2: Anyplace Crazy as Anywhere Else
Available October 22, 2012 in the United States
Motorhead are the undisputed Kings of LOUD! The mighty three piece band have managed to yet again generate a chaotic live album The World is Ours – Vol 2: Anyplace Crazy as Anywhere Else, set in the backdrop of Wacken Open Air Festival, Sonisphere and Rock in Rio. After all these years, Lemmy and the boys still remain stronger than ever.
The English rock pioneers exude nothing but pure raw power, starting from ‘Iron Fist’, one of their latest singles ‘Back In Line’ and Lemmy decides to turn everything up on ‘Metropolis’ – and that’s only the fourth track in of this face-melting compilation; before toying about with the crowd. Between Lemmy and Mikkey Dee’s tight rhythm section, frantic drumming and the fast and furious bass lines, all thrown together with Phil Campbell’s guitar wizardry that he’s possessed for the past 28 years with the tight knit group, there’s just no sign of these guys slowing down at all.
Sonisphere just about manages to blow Wacken and Rock in Rio straight out of the water with a highly packed adrenalin punch to the face, that puts forward the old classics of the highlight ‘Ace of Spades’ and ‘I Know how to Die.’ A short, but highly memorable, set.
Rock in Rio sounds more like a tamer version of the band, dumbed down after having your eardrums destroyed to an utter pulp. So in that sense it’s good, and highly controlled to give you the sense of what it would be like to be at a Motorhead concert – chaotic, brutal but a tone of kickass fun. That is what live albums are for, right?
Spending almost 40 years on the road is a true testament for the new Motorhead Live Album. It’s loud, it’s raw and it’s guaranteed to melt your face! So you’d best start saving up your pennies for it to come out…you will not be disappointed.
