The much-anticipated album of globally acclaimed electronic music producer and musician deadmau5 is set for digital release on June 17 with physical copies and streaming capabilities available June 24 on mau5trap/Astralwerks Records.
Titled while(1<2), his first double-disk set will consist of 25 tracks comprised of meticulously reedited and polished pieces of music that loyalists will be familiar with, for some of the music has been featured on his Soundcloud page over the past three years.
A clip of the albums opening number “Avaritia” is available on the deadmau5 website and will make its full radio play on Pete Tong’s UK BBC Radio 1 on Friday, May 16.
Joel Zimmerman, more commonly known as deadmau5, has been openly discussing this release for some time saying that this is the one he feels to truly be his first proper body of work.
“It’s a good mix of sh*t I want to do versus sh*t people want to hear or what they would expect. It’s a good balance. It’s not like, ‘Oh, it’s such a departure. He’s doing smooth jazz,’” deadmau5 said in a press release.
“It was when I was working on some live stuff, set-lists for shows and stuff like that, and it just must have been a 
couple of tracks that sounded pretty good stitched together end to start and I thought, ‘Well, if I ever do an album or compile this into some kind of album this has got to be that part of the order for that.’ And I just kind of took everything and played musical Tetris with it.”
Zimmerman has topped international charts with his singles “Professional Griefers,” “Sofi Needs A Ladder,” “Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff” and “I Remember,” and has released four albums, his previous one reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Chart and No. 2 on the Billboard Independent Album Chart.
