Gabriel and the Apocalypse leave their stain on Des Moines: Interview, live pic’s and show review

Minneapolis, MN, the land of the Purple One, Prof, and Gabriel and the Apocalypse.   Yes, you heard me right, Gabriel and the Apocalypse, and if you don’t know them well get to know them.  The female-fronted, six headed monster who is currently on The Condolences Across America tour with Wednesday 13 and Invidia made a stop at Lefty’s in Des Moines on Friday July 14th.  Black leather and war paint are the first things you might notice about GATA when they take the stage or possibly the currently bald little fire ball on the bass, but that is not all you will remember once they leave the stage.   Thunderous drums are accompanied by not just your standard bass and guitar but the sounds of the keys and synth give them that industrial sound that has been coming out of the north for quite some time.  Gabriel and the Apocalypse have a continuity on stage unlike I have seen in a long time.  GATA took the small stage of Lefty’s and moved around it like it was their home practice location.  The members of the band flowed with one another complementing each other’s moves like bands that has been on tour together for 30 years.  Hell, I don’t think any of them are even 30 years old.  Altogether Gabriel and the Apocalypse are that perfect package of voice, instrumental, and show all wrapped up in a busted looking package with a black spiked collar holding it all together.
