Hailing from the music factory that is Minneapolis, MN, 3 Pill Moring is a rock band that has a sound that can be pleasing to all fans of music. Mixing in everything from synths, shredding guitars and various ranges of vocals by Jeff Stebbins there is something to please everyone. 3PM recently wrapped up their own headline tour and are back on the road with Thousand Foot Krutch’s Exhale Tour. During this tour, July 29th to be exact 3 Pill Morning will be releasing their new album Never Look Back. This 11 track album totaling 38 minutes in length showcases the mixed bag of talents that each member of the band has worked on over the years.
Never Look Back opens with a powerful intro of guitars and percussion that leads into the smooth yet playful vocals that drive Electric Chair from start to finish for what is the heaviest song on the album. The title track Never Look Back starts off with the lyrics “Am I still breathing” which sets the tone of the song and its message of just flying away and never looking back.
Every now and then you will hear a song that just stops you in your tracks and makes you hit that back button so you can make sure that what you just heard was as powerful as you thought it was and Vultures was that very song. With the state of the world today and all of the tragedy that is going on around us Vultures could be the anthem for these trying times. When I hear “We need a hero” I just think to myself, we do need a hero and we need a lot of them right now, we need all join as one and be each other’s heroes. Just a powerful song.
All throughout this album you can tell that there was no shortage of inspiration to be used as creative fodder. Every song on this album tells the story of pain, loss and just emotional despair that we all have faced at some point in our lives. A lot of music today is missing that personal touch to it that makes an album just that much more special in not only the eyes of the artists creating it, but also to the fan that listens to it and is able to have that connection that we all want to get every time we put on a song.
