Skid Row played hometown of Atlanta Georgia recently and packed the house at Wild Bill’s. Lots of fun was had at the expense of previous singer Sebastian Bach who made a fool of himself on Twitter, ranting childish rhetoric about them playing a small club and bashed Rock 100.5 radio station for promoting the show. Little did he know Wild Bill’s is a huge venue that packs the house every time the REAL Skid Row plays here!!! Thousands of dedicated fans rocked along with the 80′s Hair Metal Band. The Skid’s truly love their long time fans who embrace current singer Johnny Salinger and drummer Rob Hammersmith along with original lineup of Scotti Hill, Dave “The Snake” Sabo, and forming member Rachel Bolin. We love all things that rock. It’s what we do. We reviewed a pretty cool movie in our last issue of RockRevolt Magazine by the name of “All American Zombie Drugs”. Saucy Monky is an interesting mix of 90s alternative, great songwriting, catchy hooks and a healthy dose of attitude that’s down right infectious and hard to resist. They are one of those bands that you may not know the name, but you know the music. The band has had several songs featured on such Nickelodeon shows as Drake and Josh, iCarly and Zoey101. They have also been featured on Veronica Mars, Alcatraz and Blue Bloods. Self-described as one part Alanis Morissette, one part Garbage and a touch of Aimee Mann; the band has been crafting their sound for over ten years now on the indie circuit.

We Came As Romans is a band that prides itself in being the undisputed king of electrically charged eruptions of uplifting motivation while drawing inspiration from the chaos and the dark struggles that we all face on the daily. The band has heart and continues to provide the same constant breath of fresh air that a hopeful mind in life is essential. Their music is a constant reminder that although life can toss you the worst, there is a reason why each and every person has a purpose to live. I could go as far to say that We Came As Romans are beacon of hope for the continued post-hardcore/metalcore scene.

Virginia Beach, Virginia is not a place that’s automatically associated with an awesome music scene. Wait; now before I start hearing boos from all of the hard working musicians there, hear me out. It’s the beach, bikinis, suntan lotion, it’s sand and water and a place to go on vacation. I don’t think too many people put Virginia Beach right up there with Nashville or the Hollywood Strip when it comes to a booming music scene. Yet, there is a rumbling going on in the underground music scene and it’s from a band approaching the edge of breakthrough and that band is Pillbuster.

11 dates and boasting some of the best unsigned bands on the underground touring circuit: the dream of a charity tour to raise awareness is a dream come true for its organizer, Andy Pilkington. They’re back! Armed with their original line-up, SOiL are back to conquer the world with their upcoming album Whole that’s to be released on the 20th August. We were able to speak to their bassist Tim King about what it’s like having Ryan McCombs back in the band, a partially Pledgemusic funded album, and how the band are going back to their original style, which you can certainly hear on their new single ‘Shine on’. It ROCKS!

From the studio to the stage, Rockland County New York’s own, N.a.s.H, never fails to kick your ass. How it is possible for such a big sound to be coming from only three people I don’t even know. Every moment of the music is raw - it’s real, and it’s personal. Brothers James, Joe, and Bryan Nash formed N.a.s.H in 2001, and have kept the music strong to this day.

It’s literally been a year since their tour was cut short. The bus that transported this epic band across Europe came down, and Baroness was not the same. It was a sad time. It was a dark and sad time.
A year later, the group has resurfaced with new members and a greater joie de vivre, and a passion to get out on the road and tour again. Not only did we get the inside scoop for our May/June Issue of RockRevolt Magazine, but we were able to catch up with them on tour and speak with the band face-to-face, and see the show. What an amazing show it was. Baroness, even though is half and half the old guys, is Baroness nonetheless. Their music is still amazing. They’ve got it. They never forgot it. They never lost it. These guys are the real deal, and we at RockRevolt were truly honored to have been able to sit down and have such a candid chat about everything from the new lineup to the crash, and a little of this and that in between.

True Widow has been described as a “stonegaze trio”. This is not far from the truth. Their latest record, Circumambulation, is most definitely a record that defines True Widow, as well as incorporates their shoegaze, drone, and just some stoner rock that gives you a sonic high without the succor of herbal remedies.

It’s no secret that the music industry is a bit schizophrenic these days with so many “here today, gone today” artists everywhere you look. It seems as if labels are focused on their immediate return instead of investing in an artist for long term rewards. Longevity and true talent are far down on the list of artist requirements these days. Then, along comes a band from Peoria, Illinois that makes you stand up and take notice.
