One Less Reason takes over the Granada Theater in Lawrence, Kansas
It may be fall, but it sure does not seem like it in the Midwest just yet. On a perfect night, September 26th to be exact, One Less Reason rolled into town on the Fury Tour with Sick Puppies. Before the show I had the chance to speak with Cris and the rest of the guys in the band in what might be one of my favorite interviews (and I use that term loosely) to date. What was supposed to be an interview turned into a bunch of guys shooting the shit in the bus; hell they even fired questions my way. We did learn that Cris Brown was fighting of a cold or some kind of flu bug that I am sure has nothing to do with the nasty ass dudes on the bus (watch interview below).
Cris Brown – One Less ReasonI can tell you this, if Mr. Brown was suffering from a cold, there was no way in telling it. One Less Reason came to the stage and the Lawrence, Kansas, crowd let them know they were welcome in their town. OLR stared the night of with an offering from their latest album The Memories Uninvited. As “Something Beautiful ” rolled through the venue, the crowd let them know they were with them and along for the ride. I really have no other way of saying this, but Cris Brown … that dude can sing. The power in that man’s vocals is something I have not heard in a long time. I am not saying I have not heard some great vocalists lately; I am just saying the pure power and conviction in which that dude delivers a song is nothing but pure awesomeness. Backing up Cris’s vocals is a band of gentlemen that match his power through there instruments. On their third song, the band showed their strength when a technical difficulty left us in the audience hearing nothing, but as soon as the sound came back halfway through the song, they never missed a beat and kept on chugging along. OLR played a good mix of music from some of their past albums and gave the fans a good dose of the new. Altogether, it was a show that left those at the Granada waiting for their return.
